Heroes for Children of Horry County, South Carolina
Heroes for Children is a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the volunteer Guardian ad Litem program of Horry County, South Carolina.
Volunteer Guardians ad Litem are court appointed advocates who represent the best interests of children in Family Court proceedings involving allegations of abuse or neglect.
Heroes for Children supports the Horry County Guardian ad Litem program in a number of ways by providing financial and human resources in the following areas:
Expanded public relations - assisting in the recruitment of new volunteer Guardians, while raising public awareness about the work of Guardians, and advocating for the issues relevant to children and families involved in the Family Court System.
Inter-agency collaboration initiatives aimed at strengthening the overall efforts by the Court and Foster Care System to help families and children at risk.
Providing expanded training and resources for Guardians to enhance their work with the children and families they serve.
